Abstract—A new lay-up process has been invented, which involves a layer being made from three special shape prepreg. The first piece is butterfly shaped and remaining two pieces shaped trapezoid, with radius on smaller edge. Joining of all three pieces is butt-joint type. The subsequent layers are also in pieces of similar shapes with varying sizes. The lay-up of subsequent layers is carried out at an angle of rotation with respect to adjacent layer in clockwise direction. The component manufactured has no flaws and defects. This lay-up process reduces the wastage of raw material and also reduces the manufacturing cycle time.
